Hello everyone, Happy New Year! I hope you had a spectacular time celebrating and enjoying the presence of loved ones. I’ve had this on my mind for a while and wanted to share an Amazon Spark roundup with you. Kicking off the new year by getting this post out.
I had no idea that Amazon Fashion had a great selection of clothing. With the launch of Amazon Spark, it just made sense to document my looks created with pieces purchased on Amazon. Amazon Spark is Amazon’s social platform to discover things from people who share your interests. Spark makes it easy to discover—and shop—stories and ideas from a community that likes what you like.
This Amazon Spark roundup features a mix of 10 of my daily outfits. I like to share curated content to my Instagram profile and reserve of my day-to-day looks for Amazon Spark. You can share images, products, links, texts or take a vote (poll) on whatever you want, think outfit and shopping decisions. Here’s how to get started with Spark [Psst! Don’t forget to follow me].
It’s interesting how some of the dreamy and well thought-out looks are not usually the outfits I end up wearing daily. I guess I enjoy putting the looks together, looking pretty and feeling like a princess in front of a camera. Or maybe they are not practical as I don’t have a lot of events or occasions to attend.
Either way, my Spark looks show you what I do wear most of the time from work pants, denim, African prints, blouses, lots of flats, sweaters and practical heels. I want to keep you inspired (so you keep coming back) and real so you know it’s not always glitter and a full face of makeup around here 🙂
10 DAYS WEARING AMAZON FASHION
#1: AFRICAN PRINT CHRISTMAS PARTY LOOK
I contemplated wearing this outfit to a Christmas party but ended up wearing this oldie with cape. The African print patchwork dress is a bespoke piece available at WithFlare on Etsy. It was obviously cold but I just could not resist wearing the tube dress so I paired the dress with a turtleneck sweater that I purchased from Amazon Fashion.
#2: WINTER ATHLEISURE VIBES
No need wine-ing about the weather when you get to wear cute athleisure pieces on warmer winter days. The fringe sweater I am wearing is a sold out pieces from Zara and the patterned leggings is on sale from Aerie.
My Reebok rose gold sneakers, also a hot color this season is from Famous Footwear and also available on Amazon (with free shipping!). The Reebok Classic Harman sneakers is super comfortable and runs true to size.
#3: DRESSY CASUAL OUTFIT
I don’t know about you but I love dressing up especially in the winter. I’ve lived in Alaska for more than 3 years and one thing that gets me going on dark winter days like these is dressing up. It is so easy to get preoccupied with how dark (4 hours of daylight) and cold (aka -40ºF) the weather gets in Alaska.
I take my mind off the weather by wearing fun pieces. I find that I am more comfortable in stretchy pants than pants with zips and buttons. Thick denim is a necessity when the weather gets terribly cold though.
For this look, I am wearing the softest leather jacket I’ve ever worn. I got it in a size small to give me more room to layer pieces but extra small would have been my perfect fit. This leather jacket is actually one of Amazon’s umbrella brands, Lark & Ro.
It is a little pricey but it’s definitely worth the investment! Underneath is an under $20 gray wrap sweater available in 15 different colors. Definitely hides the tummy area when you’re feeling bloated 😉 It’s not my favorite shirt but the price can’t be beat!
#4: SWEATER WEATHER
While evaluating my wardrobe and restocking on pieces I needed for fall/winter, I realized that I needed more sweaters. I wanted something simple that was also stylish. I came across this scallop neck sweater on Amazon. There were only two reviews and one person said it ripped the first week!
Honestly, I was not expecting much and figured I could use Amazon’s free return if the sweater did not work out. I’ve worn it several times now and absolutely love it. At under $15, the sweater is a steal! There are 4 more unique colors (purple, khaki, gray and red). Paired with a simple high waisted denim and my block heeled ankle booties.
#5: AFRICAN PRINT DRESS
A couple months ago, I discovered this African print dashiki dress on Amazon. I love how pretty and fitted the dress is so I took the bait as it was under $20. If you’re familiar with African print clothes, you know they cost a pretty penny because most of them are handmade from scratch and fabric patterns are limited in supply.
This dashiki dress is a mass-produced printed version. I should have sized up because the dress rides up with movement. But it is a beautiful piece. I ended up changing my outfit before heading out. The yellow version is sold out but you can get this pretty pink color and other variations. My exact Michael Kors kitten heels are old/sold out but the Flex Mid Pumps is a close alternative.
#6: WORKOUT WEAR
I don’t know about you but I don’t like working out. I hear all the time that now’s the best time to get into the routine. I get on my grind for a few months then I slack off. Anyone else? I find it easier to get on my groove when I put on athletic or athleisure pieces.
My regular workout sneakers is not the most comfortable so I bought this pair of Skechers that I would wear whenever (workout and errands). It is ridiculously comfortable [and is available on Amazon]! I did not make a 2018 resolution but I plan on getting more active. Stepping on the scale made me nervous. My scale broke and I felt relieved. I threw it out! 🙈
#7: CHRISTMAS SWEATER DRESS
I visited my twin sister in October and bought her this Ugly Christmas sweater dress. She has been on my case since 2015 when she saw me wear the red version of this sweater dress on the blog. And again in 2016, when I spent Christmas/New Year with her. I ended up also buying one for myself.
I recommend sizing down because the sweater runs large and stretches after wearing it a few times. I got lots of compliments when I wore it in December. The red version has been restocked and all colors are currently on after-Christmas sale (best time to purchase them).
#8: A TOUCH OF SILVER
For some reason, I really wanted to wear this handmade African print skirt from Sika’a. The only way I was going to stay warm was to layer, layer, layer. I wore a pair of thermal footless leggings, a tank and a thick, belted cardigan to retain body heat. This bow slides by The Fix, an Amazon Fashion label was the final piece I needed to tie my look together.
I am glad that I added this bow slides to my wardrobe. It is the perfect statement piece that can instantly elevate a look. It is currently on sale too 🙂 I usually put my heels and flats in a carrying bag until I get to my final destination. If I’m feeling a little darling, I would wear my heels or flats out and keep a pair of backup winter boots in my car, just in case.
#9: CHRISTMAS SUNSHINE
Just like the green scallop sweater, I felt a need to add a mustard yellow knit sweater to my wardrobe. This outfit is a more practical look than the previous outfit. There was a shipping delay and Amazon gave me the option to cancel my order for a full refund. I decided to wait. I’m so glad I did not cancel my order for this sweater.
The 4-star rating was right on. The sweater feels amazing. This is basically my everyday look. I am wearing a Banana Republic Sloan pants that I’m absolutely obsessed it. The exact color I own is sold out but you can find a similar color on Amazon Fashion.
This is the pair of Tory Burch riding boots I got during last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. You can find an extremely similar style on Amazon as it’s no longer available at Nordstrom. This riding boots have become a winter essential for me.
#10: BLACK AND WHITE OUTFIT
Lastly, we have this striped look. I have a similar off shoulder top from Asos but I wanted a blouse that was a little longer. Thankfully, I found this fitted off shoulder top on Amazon Fashion. The fabric is a little thin and the top has somewhat of a cheap feel on the skin but it’s not obvious.
You can find all my recent Amazon Fashion purchases on my Amazon Shop page. I also provide commentary on fitting as I wear them. And you can find me on Amazon Spark 😉 I am very satisfied with the offerings, quality, and price-points of clothing sold on Amazon Fashion. Have a wonderful month!
And it’s a wrap! I never knew that Amazon had so many amazing pieces. The discovery of Amazon’s in-house brands is exciting news to me. So far the pieces I own have been top-notch. I hope to share more Amazon Fashion looks and plan to turn this into a series. My prayer for you is that this year brings you all you desire.
