Crop tops are stylish for the younger generation! Over 50? Crop tops are not an ideal option for a sophisticated and polished look. It may have been fun and trendy at a younger age. A crisp button-up or silk top will never steer you wrong.

Overly Distressed Jeans

Overly distressed jeans—characterized by large rips, tears, and heavy fading— make it harder to pull off a polished and stylish look, especially as you age.

The exaggerated rips and tears in distressed jeans can become the focal point of your outfit, overshadowing your personality, which should always be the centerpiece of your look. The goal at 50 is to be stylish and subtle.

Uncomfortable Heels

High heels are a symbol of power and femininity, but they may be risky for you as you age. It can affect your posture and impact on your joints. Stylish block heels and wedges should be your go-to.

Loud Logos

Loud logos are unflattering. Regardless of age, these pieces are out of sync with the sophistication and understate the elegance you aim to project. As you age, a polished and classic look projects your style.

Mini-skirts

Fashion has no age limit, and if wearing a mini skirt makes you feel confident and fabulous, there’s no rule saying you must give it up. However, if you choose to transition personal style as you age to align with evolving comfort levels, personal aesthetics, and practical considerations, a mini-skirt should not be in your closet.

Mini skirts can be restrictive, and may not provide the ease of movement you prefer in your day-to-day life.

Loud Flashy Accessories

As you grow older, your personal style tends to evolve toward sophistication and subtlety. While loud, flashy accessories can be fun, they might no longer align with the refined image you want to project.

Understated accessories reflect self-assurance. You don’t need oversized or glittery pieces to make an impression. Your confidence and presence do the talking.
