Wearing a tee with denim shorts is probably one of my favorite looks to wear in the summer. However, it has been a while since I shared a shorts outfit with you.

Blame it on living in Alaska where we are lucky to get two full months of warm summer months. As a tropical girl at heart, I prefer to wear a denim short outfit to run errands and for A casual meetup with friends.
Or blame it on the fact that I tend to share dressier looks on the blog. Casual style still has a place in fashion, everyday fashion. So this look is my attempt at sharing more everyday outfits with you 😉
And I apologize for the lack of new post last week. I came down with a cold as soon as I returned from my birthday vacation to Hawaii. Ha, I blame my twin sister! She kept blowing her nose on the flight to Oahu. I should have known better, lol. In her defense, she warned me not to stay too close her. I didn’t!
Speaking of, this was one of the denim shorts I packed for my trip to Hawaii. Since I am still working on the post about what to pack for trip to Hawaii, I want to share this denim shorts outfit with you.
I wore this outfit on my trip in Denver, Colorado. I am so glad that I packed this shorts because it was scorching hot in Colorado. This was also about the same time that the weather in Alaska started to get cooler, so my body was a little confused.
This jean short is one of my favorite summer shorts. The roll-up cuff add a nice touch to the denim. I’ve worn it several times, and I can honestly say that the shorts go well with flats, sneakers, sandals, and even heels.
I don’t see anything wrong in looking laid back and comfortable at the same time 😉 Actually, this is my goal 95% of the time.
With tee and denim shorts outfits, a simple way to show that you put some effort into your relaxed look is by opting for a fancy pair of flats. Trade flip-flops for heeled flats (like this braided flats from Amazon), clean tennis shoes, or strut your athleisure vibes with a classic pair of Chuck-Taylor sneakers.
To complete your casual but relaxed cute summer outfit, add a small crossbody bag and your favorite pair of Ray-bans.
You’ve spotted me wear this Tory Burch ballet flats (similar) on the blog in this Betabrand dress pant yoga pants review post. In reality, these Tory Burch flats have been worn on repeat since mid-summer. The pastel color, like most neutral colors, lends it well to be worn with a variety of looks.
On Monday, I paired the flats with a burgundy poncho and burgundy faux suede pants. I got more compliments than usual about the unique combination. The flats served as a great pop of color to my ensemble.
I know that not everyone can pluck out the moolah or the courage to buy a Tory Burch ballet flats. I bought mine on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, which saved me over 30% off the actual price.
This Deflex flat has two layers of memory foam insoles and a flexible footbed. These features make this scrunchy shoe an obvious choice for convenience on almost any day. The perforated detail help air out for feet on a hot summer day.
I’m not sure what there is to say about this striped t-shirt (similar). Other than it is super soft and breathable. The tee was an inexpensive buy that I spotted in the Nordstrom Catalog. I almost passed on it since we all have (or have access to) a tee. They sold out like pancakes during the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so I can’t link to the exact item, sorry (similar at Old Navy, and Loft).
The distressed neckline of the t-shirt complements the light distress pattern on the denim shorts, which reinforces the casual chic look of this denim shorts outfit. Until next time, thank you so much for stopping by.
