There’s a chance you have a few dry-cleaning bags lurking in your wardrobe, you do not need for them. These bags are designed for short-term storage, and they block air circulation. It is time to toss it out!

Costumes

That scary costume that made you the talk of the Halloween party is memorable but it should not be in your closet! From Christmas parties to Halloween costumes, you should not save these items in your closet. If you plan to use them again, store them in a secondary space. They are occasionally used and should not take up space in your wardrobe.

Wire Hangers

Wire hangers are trashy. You most likely got them with your dry cleaning. They should be tossed out with the dry cleaning bags. They add to the chaos in your closet and can distort the shape of your clothes. Opt for wooden or velvet hangers.

If it doesn’t fit properly, it’s time to toss it out. Baggy clothes or clothes that are too tight should not be in your closet. Wearing ill-fitting clothes makes you look sloppy, cheap, and disorganized.

Most impulse-buy items tend to be tossed at the back of the closet. Could it be a hat bought on vacation or from an advertisement? Let every piece of your wardrobe be an intentional buy and something you truly love. 

Gifts You do not Like

People tend to hold on to gifted items even when they don’t like them. It could be an ugly Christmas sweatshirt from a loved one or a stylish gown that doesn’t align with your style, pass it to someone who can pull it off. Feel free to re-gift items you do not like.

Old and Worn Out Clothes
