It’s been a rather long week and to spice things up a bit, I decided to share my basic hair routine with you. It should be no news that I wear hair extensions, or is it? ๐Ÿ™‚ In this hair video, I am wearing Brazilian curly hair extensions from Swayhair.com in 18″, 16″, and 14″, which cost me close to $400. So far, I’ve installed this hair three times and I’ve had absolutely no issues – It goes without saying that you get what you pay for. The $$$ was worth the investment, watch the video to get more tips on how I care for my hair.
PROs/CONs
DURABILITY: Like I said in the video, I do not like spending a lot of time on my hair. This hair has gone through extremely weather with me (summer heat in Colorado to winter cold in Alaska). She (meaning the hair) passed with flying colors.
MAINTENANCE: She gets an A+ for easy maintenance. I do my basic hair routine once a week (see video above) usually on Wednesdays then full washing/conditioning bi-monthly.
AFFORDABILITY: Like I said, you get what you pay for. If you expect to pay $10 for REAL human hair extensions, Iโ€™m sorry doll but that ain’t happening! While the downside is that she cost me an arm and a leg (~$400), I got an awesome deal from the company.
LONGEVITY: In-between my 3 installations, I’ve had her on for a total of 7 months (August โ€“ April). I took her off to treat my hair. May hair stylist has been quite impressed with how well the hair has held up considering I’m not very adept at caring for my hair.
RICHNESS/QUALITY: During my first and second installations, I only used the 18โ€ and 16โ€ because the hair is super thick. As time went by, there was a little bit of shedding, like every human hair, so I opted to add on one-half (1/2) of the 14โ€ on the third installation.
The best part about this hair is that it is so natural/real that I felt embarrassed telling an AA man that I worked with (for 4 weeks) that this wasn’t my natural hair because he kept telling me how lucky I was to have such natural, full hair. I even caught him touching my hair once, creepy! I’ve had tons of compliments on this hair and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to invest in high quality hair extensions. Check out my LOOKBOOK to see different styles of the hair. As always, thank you so much for stopping by and I’ll be in touch with you soon.
