How to Quickly Wash Large Loads of Laundry

Last month I got back from what could very much be my last ever college spring break vacation! I even shot this simple bell sleeve outfit while I was there to immortalize this very memorable experience. My vacation to Wyoming was all rosy until I realized how much laundry I had to do when I got back.

I always end up with a huge pile of dirty laundry when I return. For me, ironing clothes is the most mundane chore anyone can do and doing laundry is a close second. Read on to learn about my favorite laundry hacks to tackle stains and large loads of laundry.  

Living in Alaska means I get to travel quite a bit to see family and friends. If you’re curious about how I tackle overwhelming loads of laundry especially after a relaxing vacation, I’ve got you covered. In no particular order, here are 4 laundry hacks to help you quickly wash large loads of laundry.

• First thing first, separate your laundry. I use a 3-bag laundry system to separate whites, dark colors, and mixed colors. Washing whites with any other color can lead to permanent stains on your whites. I used to avoid wearing white clothes before my sister introduced me to Tide® PODS™ (keep out of reach of children).

• One of the few laundry hacks I recently learned was to pre-treat stains on clothes as soon as they occur to prevent them from becoming permanent. In the past, I would wipe off the stain and move on with my life. Only to find out that the stain was impossible to remove later. I’ve lost way too many clothes like this including a gorgeous floral dress I wore once!
  Pre-treating stains immediately and before you wash them determines if you’ll be able to wear them again or have to buy new clothes. P.S: You can use a stain remover pen for on-the-go stain removal. Tide To Go Instant Stain Remover pen is handy for situations like this.
  
• For clean clothes, use the right amount of detergent for your laundry loads. As someone who travels often, I usually end up doing large loads of laundry. • As soon as the dryer stops, fold or hang your clothes to prevent wrinkles. If you’re hard-pressed for time, add a dry towel to the dryer with your clothes to significantly reduce how long it takes for your laundry to dry. The dry towel absorbs extra moisture from your clothes so they dry faster.
