Years of damage from hair treatments, dryness and breakage culminated into the perfect storm. It would be an understatement if I told you that I just wasn’t my hair. I kept it a secret from those around me, walked into a salon and asked the stylist to put the clipper to my hair. I even shared a Snap about it. But that was last year.
Post hair-chop, I did a lot of research to make sure I was well informed on how to care for my new short hair. Just because I’m rocking a low cut does not mean I no longer have to put in an effort to care for my hair.
My twin sister was concerned that my new hairstyle would adversely affect the kind of hairdos I could wear especially since I get bored of my hairstyle quickly. All I can say is, thank God for protective hair styles like wigs. Yup, I still can rock any hairstyle I want ๐
As someone who has transitioned from treated, long relaxed hair to natural, short kinky hair, I find that having a consistent nighttime routine of moisturizing and protecting my hair significantly reduces dry out and breakage. Satin wraps have been a core part of my nighttime routine but sometimes I wake up to realize that the wrap slipped off while I was sleeping.
Enter Satin-Lined Cap aka Slap by Grace Eleyae. Slap solves this problem and takes it up a notch because Slap can also be worn as a fashionable cap during the day. To show you how versatile it is, I styled the Slap in today’s look. You can wear them to bed as a protective barrier between your hair and harsh materials, or you can wear them out and about as a cute beanie that acts as a protective barrier between your hair and harsh outside materials.
Trade the old-school hair bonnet and pull out the Slap during the day or at night. Grace Eleyae has graciously offered my readers 10% off their first Slap through this link.
Say goodbye to unnecessary breakage and frizz. Keep your hair moisturized and silky smooth with the Satin-Lined Cap by Grace Eleyae. Now, I wear Slap before bed to ensure that my hair stays fresh and healthy everyday because short hair needs love too!

This makes me glad I have short straight hair that is easy to care for.
Haha me too! Satin-lined caps make it a lot easier.
Love your hair!
Thank you Jenna!
Your hair is SO beautiful! Do you think a satin cap like this would work for all hair types? Since my hair is bleached and color treated, I’ve been looking into wearing something over my hair at night to help prevent breakage!
Thanks Valery! I believe it works for all hair types. It would help lock in moisture and prevent breakage.
