Well, the 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally here for Icon Level Cardholders. Early Access to the sale kicked off at 9:30 AM ET today. What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is Nordstrom’s BIGGEST and arguably the best sale of the year where customers can purchase brand new fall pieces at a fraction of the price for a limited time. Unlike the end of season sales, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale features NEW fall arrivals.
Think of this once-a-year sale as a reverse sale for you to stock up on discounted fall and winter essentials a few weeks before the season starts compared to shopping discounted pieces after the end of the season and then waiting till the following year to wear those items.
A lot can (and sometimes do 🤷♀️) happening between when you purchase the pieces versus when you can actually wear the items. That’s why the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is such a big deal and a hit among trendsetters and advanced planners alike.
The catch? You have to plan ahead to avoid spending your rent money buying everything under the sun. My friend, the temptation is real!
Changes to 2020 Nordstrom Sale
Every year, I cover the Anniversary Sale and this year, there are a few changes due to the global health crisis happening right now (more details here).
- For the first time ever, the Anniversary Sale catalog will be available online only. Everyone can preview the sale (here) until Early Access or General Access starts.
- Historically, Early Access was available to most Levels of Nordstrom Cardholders but this year brought some changes (see shopping dates below).

THE #NSALE 2020 PUBLIC ACCESS DATE
On August 19, the Anniversary Sale will open up to everyone at 9:30 AM EST regardless of your cardholder status. Although some products might be sold out, you get a better chance of scooping up your favorite if you shop early. The Nordstrom website has been known to crash.
I’ve been covering the Anniversary Sale and sharing my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 picks for a few years now. So I know a good sale when I see one. On that note, this year’s selection of summer and fall fashion as well as beauty products is not as robust as years past.
But I’m willing to give Nordstrom a break. Why? With so many cancellations happening this year and businesses shutting their doors permanently, I would have bet money that the 2020 Anniversary Sale was not going to happen.
However, Nordstrom outdid themselves!

You can buy anything you want from the Anniversary Sale. This year, we are seeing a lot of fall pieces like sweaters, boots, and cardigans as well as summer dresses and jumpsuits. That said, some of the best deals, year over year, from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale includes:

1. Barefoot Dream CozyChic Cardigan
I’m starting off this top 10 #NSALE must-haves with this super soft and awesome Barefoot Dreams long cardigan.
I got this cozy cardigan last year, and I haven’t regretted splurging on it. While I had to think twice before placing my order for the sweater, I’m happy to report that I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth from it.

I got mine in black, but it is also available in 3 other fun colors namely bisque, dusty mauve, and heather cocoa-taupe. From the initial price tag of $114, this cozy cardigan has been significantly marked down this year. Now that’s a deal you don’t want to miss this year, trust me.
2. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings
Next on my list of must-haves is the most-wanted Spanx faux leather leggings. This bestselling faux leather leggings from Spanx retails for $98. During the Anniversary Sale, the faux leather leggings the discounted almost 40% off. How cool is that?
And in case you’re wondering leggings and faux leather leggings are still in style. With the athleisure trend and work from home (WFH) jobs on the rise, you’ll wear these pants on repeat for a long time, lowering your cost per wear.

3. Good American Jeans, AG Jeans, and Frame Jeans
For lovers of premium quality denim, then I hope this Nordstrom Anniversary sale preview is exactly what you’re looking for. I recommend the Good American jeans, which I got last year and they are great keepers when it comes to jean outfits.
This premium denim is a functional piece that would make a great addition to your wardrobe. Style this high-waisted jeans for work, to run errands, or for a night out.
During the Anniversary Sale, this Good American high waisted skinny jeans has literally been slashed in price by a significant percent. You can also get this Good American skinny crop jeans for $98.90 before the price increases to $149 on August 31at.
Another premium denim brand you can’t go wrong with is AG Jeans and Frame jeans. AG high waist skinny jeans will drop down from $215 to just under $150 during this Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I already have it in my wishlist again and might just get it this year depending on my budget.
The AG jeans have a great fit with nice bum-sculpting features that make them excellent denim. Frame jeans are also popular among Nordstrom shoppers and this flared denim might make you ooh and ahh #cute!
4. BP. Tees and Caslon T-Shirts
There are some fantastic everyday tees you can scoop up this year on Nordstrom. I highly recommend BP. tees and Carlon T-shirts. The quality of these inexpensive loungewear to street style tops are top-notch.
I almost always get one or two tees during the Anniversary Sale before they sell out. Here’s a sneak peek of me rocking my Nordstrom tees.
Both Caslon and BP. are Nordstrom Made Brands that deliver on quality while bringing affordable luxury to our wardrobe. The tees are easy to style with denim, leggings, or shorts. Here’s how I styled the BP. t-shirt with the BlankNYC moto jacket (also part of the Anniversary Sale here).
5. Sorel Waterproof Wedge Boot
I first learned about these Sorel boots from a Facebook group for women. After much research, I bought a pair at a price higher than the current Anniversary Sale price. But yo! This wedge boot is probably one of the most comfortable heeled footwear I own.
Combine the comfort level to the fact that the boots are waterproof (read: perfect for fall) and you have a winner. The style I own is pretty much the same as what’s available during the 2020 Anniversary Sale with a minor modification.
For the babes that need to feel closer to heaven, the hidden platform wedge will achieve that goal. They go well with denim, leggings (plain or faux leather), and even skirts. Rock these waterproof boots right now and through the end of fall. Plus get it while you can at almost half the price.
6. Steve Madden Feather Loafers
My triple C goals are chic, comfy, and classy. No pair of shoes embodies these points better than the Steve Madden Feather loafers. I ordered mine during the Amazon Big Style Sale and was pleasantly surprised to see the same loafers included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
If you’re anything like me, i.e. attainable luxury, these ballet flats will be top on your wishlist. They are made from real leather and feel incredible soft (get the tea on my exclusive YouTube video).
These lightweight flats feature a flexible sole and mold to your feet. I recommend going up half a size if you’re in-between sizes. I wear 8.5-9 and size 9 was a better fit for me. The colors included in the Sale are black, camel suede, and animal print. And let’s not forget how affordable these loafers are!
7. Steve Madden OTK Boots
Another pair of shoes that absolutely needed to be included in this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 picks is this SM. Over The Knee Boots. Yes, seriously if you don’t already own a pair of OTK boots that you love, then these boots are for you.
I waited too long during the 2018 NSALE and missed out on these pointy-toe boots. Sometimes OTK boots have the tendency of looking a little too sexy, for lack of better words, but not these are boots.
Available in black and cognate, these boots are super fun and can easily be styled with skinny jeans, mini dresses, and even Spanx leggings. I will be ordering a pair. Knock on wood that it doesn’t sell out before I get to shop!
8. Hunter Waterproof Rain Boots
Year after year I see these or similar variations of Hunter waterproof rain boots grace the Anniversary Sale. While I have no need for it, now might be a great time to get a pair of you get a lot of rain or slouchy snow in your area.
In no time, the weather is going to change from summer to fall and then to winter. During that transition period, rain and tropical rainstorm tend to be in abundance in certain areas. I’ve also seen ladies add insulated Hunter socks so they can keep wearing their boots even in the heart of winter. Such a genius idea!
9. Vince Camuto Heel Bootie
My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 picks will be incomplete without highlighting a pair of Vince Camuto Booties. A similar style is currently marked down in the Nordstrom clearance sale from $150 to $59 with over 500 4-star reviews!
The stacked block heel and pointed-toe style scream western classic. Although I initially wrote off these booties last year, I’ve seen some ladies rock them with leggings and faux leather leggings.
This is such an elegant shoe and a must-have if this style resonates with you. The placement of the elasticized foot entry and the cut of the block heels add a modern flat to this shoe. Plus this affordable luxury find is made with leather with rubber soles. Before it sells out, get your favorite color.
An easy styling option is to pair this ankle bootie with Spanx faux leather leggings or Zella High-Waist leggings with a Barefoot Dream cardigan or BlankNYC moto jacket with a cute BP tee.
10. UGG Socks, Barefoot Dream Socks, and Natori Bra
I promised to keep this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 picks to the top 10 must-haves. But we know that the Anniversary Sale also features amazing deals on lingerie. So here we go! If you can only get one pair of socks from the Sale, I highly recommend these super soft and cozy Barefoot Dreams socks or these UGG socks.
Seriously you won’t regret spending a few more dollars to get the coziest socks ever. And this year, you get not one but two pairs of the Barefoot Dreams socks. I live in mine. It is so soft that it feels like you’re walking on clouds.
I’ve also heard rave reviews about the UGG socks and since I’m familiar with the level of coziness associated with UGG, I’m quite certain that these fleece-lined socks would be everything a girl could ask for. It would make a terrific birthday gift too. They are perfect for the winter, and getting these now before prices go back up is a great idea.
Last but definitely not the least of my top 10 must-have from the Nordstrom Sale is Natori Bra. I actually wanted to debunk/crush the hype associated with this bra. But your sis became a convert. So much so that I went back on Nordstrom and order two or three more Natori bras.
Like many of the items on this Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 picks, this Natori feathers bra is usually among the first lingerie to sell out. If you’re lucky some items/colors might get restocked or returned (shoppers tend to order multiple sizes of NSALe pieces. So don’t give up if it’s not immediately available when you visit the Nordstrom website.
Honorable Mentions from the 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
1. Gibson Blazer
Looking for a cute dressy blazer that you can wear to work and also style for a chic casual look, the Gibson Blazer should be on your radar. At under $50, this blazer will make your wallet happy.
The notched collar and statement color options make this blazer stand out from the pack.
2. BP Long Sleeve Tee
For as low as $15.90, you can get this fitted BP long sleeve tee during the limited-time Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I had a couple of the short tees from BP I love, and getting a long sleeve tee from BP won’t be such a bad idea especially with this year’s impressive discount.
3. Zella Live In High Waist Leggings
It’s no longer a secret that the Zella Live In high waist leggings is almost always a top-seller. Heck, I own at least two pairs of these leggings!
If this is your first time shopping the sale or you’re looking for high-quality leggings that a squat-proof and moisture-wicking, these leggings have your name written all over it.

4. Hanky Panky Panties
Hanky Panky is another brand I’m looking forward to trying this year. Year after year, I hear bloggers talk about how they stock up on these panties. I’m not entirely sure what’s so special about these aside from the #NSALE price.
But hey, 300+ reviewers obviously know something that I don’t. Looking to refresh your panty closet? These might be worth trying out. I also love the Commando panties right now (bye-bye VPL!). They are available in a variety of cute colors and are decently priced right now.
5. UGG Slippers
Looking for fantastic lounge footwear that will keep you comfortable and warm all day long? You have a winner with the UGG slippers. These pure wool plush slippers are cute and super soft. You’ll never want to take these off. These slippers would be great gift items this holiday.
6. BlankNYC Moto Jacket
BlankNYC set the stage for the moto jacket trend. A simple search on Nordstrom or Zappos will load up a plethora of moto jacket options.
