13 Tips to Organize Your Wardrobe and Rediscover Hidden Gems

Let me share some of my secret tips if you want to tackle your wardrobe and get it organized. Here are 13 tips to organize your wardrobe and rediscover hidden gems! Declutter, find items you forgot you had, and more.
Sort Clothing

One great starter is to sort clothes by category: tops, bottoms, dresses, etc. It will help you see what you have in total for each item. You don’t have to hang them up in the closet that way, but it is good to take stock of what you have.
Empty Out Closet
Start by taking everything out of the closet and placing it in areas of the room. This will help you create an organized space that starts from scratch. It will also allow you to step back and consider what you would like for your space.
Do You Love The Item
If you have an item that may not be in style or have worn it so many times and it brings joy when you do, keep it. If the item makes you happy, keeping it is okay.
Matching Hangers
If you want a nice, clean look, consider using the same hanger style. Velvet hangers are very popular for their aesthetic appearance. Plus, the velvet helps items not slip off the hanger in the closet.

Extra Storage
Consider buying baskets or stackable bins to store scarves and other smaller items in your closet. If you have the space, you can also use door hooks or install some shelving.

Seasonal Storage
If you have a smaller space, you might want to store your off-season clothes in a different area rather than in bins or vacuum-sealed bags. This will help you reduce clutter and showcase items you will only wear for that season.

Hanger Trick
Take your hangers and turn them all backward in your closet. Then, you hang the hanger forward each time you wear an item. So, after six months, you can look at your closet and see all the items that have not been touched. This allows you to re-evaluate whether you want to keep the item still.

Arrange By Color
If you want an aesthetic closet, you can arrange your wardrobe by color. But to make it easier for other areas, you can arrange your work attire in one location, casual clothing in another, etc. Create your space to fit your exact needs.
